This game, as its title might siggest, is an interactive interpretation of Kafka's the Metamorphosis, first published in 1915. The goal in designing this game was to translate the way in which, in the novella, the act of recollection always precedes physical action – that memory motivates movement. To express this, the mechanic of the game is a two button time controller wherein the player controls the playback of a looping movie forwards and backwards in time within set scenes. Within these scenes images flash, encouraging the player to try and hold time on these images. When this is achieved the images turn in to animations of memories and these memories are then the transitions in to new scenes.

Please enjoy the game, the sound is a bit wonky so enable audio on your computer at your own risk. To play, use the left and right arrow keys to control time. Try and pause time on the flashing images or (later) the distortions in space.
